Shannon Lock

Shannon Lock, an active performer and teacher in Cincinnati, is a graduate of University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. At CCM, Shannon earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under the tutelage of Kurt Sassmannshaus, Sasha Kazovsky, and Giora Schmidt. Her passion for chamber music flourished under the guidance of the Ariel String Quartet.

As a Maryland native, Shannon gave her solo debut with the St. Louis Church Orchestra in 2014. Since then, she has attended music festivals most recently including the National Orchestral Institute, Great Wall International Music Academy, and Eastern Music Festival. In 2019, she was awarded the National Orchestral Institute Violin Fellowship along with a Teaching Fellowship at the Pacific Music Institute. 

 Shannon has performed in a wide range of ensembles in the Midwest, including ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Ohio Valley Symphony, and Huntington Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, she has taught privately for the past five years and acts as a substitute teacher at MYCincinnati. Shannon strives to cultivate inclusive and accessible classical music environments as a performer and educator.
